What is Multi-Factor Authentication?

Multi-factor authentication works by having more than one requirement to gain access to your account. Typically, this is something you know, like a password combined with something you have, like your phone. By requiring this additional verification step there is an additional tier of protection on your account - if your password is compromised, you still need the second factor to gain access to the account.
